Sara Trujillo, COTA
Sara graduated from Westwood College in 1999 and has over 25 years of dedicated experience in hand therapy as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA). Throughout her career, she has developed advanced clinical skills in upper extremity rehabilitation and brings a deep level of expertise to the care of patients with hand, wrist, elbow, and forearm conditions.
Sara is highly skilled in custom splint and orthosis fabrication and is recognized for her expertise in the safe and effective application of therapeutic modalities. She provides hands-on treatment that supports mobility, strength, and functional recovery, following individualized plans of care established at the patient’s initial evaluation and progressing treatment appropriately throughout the course of therapy.
She is well-versed in post-operative protocols and works closely and collaboratively with the treating therapists to ensure continuity of care and consistent clinical decision-making. Sara plays an integral role in guiding patients through each phase of their rehabilitation and is often the provider patients work with most consistently during their therapy journey.
As a Colorado native, Sara values building strong relationships with her patients and providing care that is both knowledgeable and compassionate. She lives with her husband, two teenage children, and their two dogs. Known for her warm, empathetic approach, Sara is a vital member of the hand therapy team and is committed to helping each patient feel supported, confident, and informed throughout their recovery.
