Lisa Crabtree has over 25 years of clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist, primarily specializing in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. She has been board certified as a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) since 2020. Her undergraduate education was from The Pennsylvania State University and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy was completed at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
She comes to Boulder after 8 years of living in Taos, New Mexico where she created and led a hand therapy clinic associated with a local hospital. During her tenure, she gained the respect of the top Santa Fe hand surgeons while partnering in their patient’s care, serving the entire northern part of New Mexico.
She is highly skilled in the fabrication of orthoses and custom hand splints. During the earlier part of her career in Albuquerque, she instructed graduate occupational therapy students at the University of New Mexico (2005 and 2006) in orthotic fabrication.
Her professional skillset also includes the treatment of Lymphedema. This is a condition typically caused by cancer treatment and surgeries that requires the specialized care of a certified lymphedema therapist (CLT).
Her extensive career in healing arts allows her to draw from numerous modalities. She is trained as a pilates instructor which provides awareness to structural alignment and the significance of core strength in rehabilitation.
In recent years, she has become attuned to energy and has become a certified Reiki practitioner. Her sensitivity to energy gives her new insight into treating her patients both at the local level of the upper extremity and holistically.
As her career continues to develop and unfold backed by years of experience and ongoing curiosity on how to refine her treatment practices, she comes to Certified Hand Therapy Services, LLC with joy and enthusiasm to serve the Boulder community.
