Clinic Owner Mitzi Harrison, PT/CHT

Mitzi has been a Physical Therapist and Certified Hand Therapist for over 38 years. She is a Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist, a Certified Specialist in Functional Assessment, an APTA-Credentialed Clinical Instructor, and is trained to perform dry needling. She previously lived and worked in the East San Francisco Bay Area for 28 years where she established a thriving outpatient physical and occupational therapy business.  She relocated to Colorado in 2015 to be closer to family and her home state of Wyoming. In 2018, she established her hand therapy practice in Boulder, Colorado. She has a close working relationship with most of the top hand surgeons in and around the Front Range, the Denver Metro area, and beyond.

 

Mitzi specializes in the treatment of rock climbers and has developed effective treatment protocols and strategies to allow climbers to continue to return to climbing as soon as possible. She also specializes in the treatment of musicians to help them return to playing their specific musical instruments. As a guitar and piano player herself, Mitzi has a unique understanding of the demands placed on the fingers, hands, and upper extremities of musicians. She is an expert in the fabrication of splints/orthoses for sports such as cycling, rowing, hockey, lacrosse, and more.

Caty Elder OTR, CMOT, CHT

​

Caty received her Master's in Occupational Therapy at Texas Woman's University in Dallas in 2017. She previously lived and practiced treating various upper extremity injuries in the Dallas-Fort Worth area of Texas, but she recently moved to Broomfield, CO. She achieved a Certification in Manual Therapy for the Upper Quadrant from the North American Institute of Orthopedic Manual Therapy in 2021 and she became a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) in 2022.  

 

She enjoys working with fractures, fabricating custom splints/orthoses depending on a specific patient's needs, and loves the challenge of creating individualized treatment programs that help each patient return to their valued daily activities. In her free time, she likes to cook, paint, travel, and go on walks with her husband Trey and their two miniature dachshunds, Pete and Ruth. 

Sara Trujillo, COTA

Sara graduated from Westwood College in 1999 and has worked in the field of hand therapy as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) for over 25 years. In that time, she has developed the skills needed for exceptional splint and orthosis fabrication and is an expert in the application of modalities. She is skilled in a variety of therapeutic treatments which she implements following the plan of care established at a patient's initial evaluation as well as throughout a patient's time in therapy. She is familiar with all of the post operative protocols and works closely with Mitzi and Caty to help patients to progress through their treatment plans.

Sara is a Colorado native and lives with her husband, two teenage children, and their two family dogs. Sara is a warm, caring, and empatheic therapist who provides exceptional care to every patient and is vital to the hand therapy team.
